This school was (and still is) located in Rocker, on the outskirts of Butte .  It appears that the interior has been renovated.  This was the only Butte area school at the turn of the century, during and after the tong wars, where Chinese-American children of the Chinese immigrant miners, were allowed to attend.

There came a time when the white miners had depleted their mining claims in the Rocker area, and these miners and their families moved elsewhere.  The industrious Chinese continued to work these over-worked claims and for a time they re-named the tiny community of Rocker, Foochow .
