Adopt a Horse When you or your family, group, or organization donate $5000, you will sponsor a pony, with rights to participate in the theme, design, style, color, and name of it. A permanent plaque memorializing your participation will be placed near the horse. Horses may be adopted with your Butte neighborhood. Neighborhoods available: McQueen, Meaderville, Walkerville, etc. or with your Southwest Montana town (Whitehall, Melrose, Anaconda, Sheridan, etc.) Most of the horses have already been adopted - contact the address at the bottom of this page for more information. Pennies for Ponies Pennies for Ponies is a fundraising effort in the school systems championed by George Parrett,who is organizing a cooperative collection of a million pennies to be used to sponsor a horse for the students of the area. Become a Charter Member Volunteers working on the project can become a charter member by donating $25 toward the sponsorship of the horse called the "Charter Horse."
