5. Rev. Michael Pirnat. He was born in Slovenia, lived with his brother Frank who acted as
janitor and his sister who was cook and housekeeper at the parish house. (Jim: Our front
door at 2303 Cottonwood was taken from the original church structure which existed before
the last church building. My father bought it from Pirnat.)
6. Atlantic Mine just north and east of McQueen. Butte and London Mine was another half
mile north. Just east was the Main Range Nos. 2 and 1. Farther east at the base of the
Rampart Mountain was the Green Leaf Mine. (The grandparents and mother Rose of Bill
Mattioli lived at the Butte&London Mine after it stopped operating, was being used as
a hospital later.)
7. In addition to the Rocky Mountain and Aro Cafe were the Copper Club, Green Lantern,
Savoy, Sam's Club, Corner Bar, 45 Club (Manila Murphy's), Golden Fan (run by Sconfienza
and Bugni?), Colusa Bar, (Alpine? next to Leonard Mine Gate?).
